I’m Julie Calhoun and I am thrilled to be a part of the esteemed KING 5 news team and call the Pacific Northwest my new home. I’m from the complete opposite corner of the country as a Savannah, Georgia, native.
I’ve had a passion for TV news since I was a kid, watching the TODAY Show every morning before school. I knew in high school that broadcast journalism was what I wanted to do with my life.
I graduated from the University of Georgia, and since then I’ve worked in several markets including Augusta, Georgia, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I’m excited to now be in Western Washington to share stories that matter to the community.
I have a passion for long-form and investigative storytelling. While in South Carolina, I started a special series covering topics like human trafficking and marijuana legalization.
I love exploring the area with my husband and two dogs named Bogey and Ella. You will also find me watching a UGA football game in the fall and cheering on the Dawgs from Seattle.
