Christine Pae

Anchor
Credit: KING

My name Christine Pae and I am thrilled to work at KING 5 as an anchor. I joined the station in February 2021 as a multimedia journalist and reporter.

My career has taken me to all corners of the U.S., and I am excited to be in Western Washington to tell your stories and report on the issues that matter to you.

You can say I traded the sunny desert for the Pacific Northwest. Prior to KING 5, I spent almost six years in the Southwest where I anchored and reported at KOAT in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and before that, I was a multimedia journalist and breaking news anchor at KOLD in Tucson, Arizona.

My first on-air reporting job was at WAFF in Huntsville, Alabama, where I shot and edited video stories and even chased a tornado or two.

I can trace back my love for news reporting to my college years when I worked for the campus newspaper at the University of California in San Diego (UCSD), where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in literature and writing. I also lived in the Midwest for a year while earning a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

I am a second-generation Korean-American born and raised in Southern California. I absolutely love the outdoors and seafood, so I know I’ll feel right at home in Seattle. I also enjoy cooking, gardening, reading and finding where I can get a great cappuccino. Yoga and hiking are my exercise of choice, and my favorite sport to watch is baseball.
